The Geneva Tap house is located in downtown Lake Geneva and connected to the Geneva Theater. This amazing self-pour tap room features over 50 beers and 5 wines on tap. Owner Heidi McGraw, a retired Janesville high school counselor brought this concept to the area after visiting The Pour Taproom Knoxville, Tennessee. She says, “Their unique I Pour It technology enables patrons to pay by the ounce with a large selection of beers, many of which are locally sourced.” she adds, “Think of it as a Beer festival everyday.”
There are lines of beer from the East Troy Brewery, G5 from Beloit, Duesterbecks in Delavan, The Runaway Microbrewery and Low Daily in Burlington. There are two nitro taps for Guiness and Fat Pug Milk Stout. Drinks will be self poured using fobs. The raw natural tables have also been sourced locally from The Country Porch in Mukwonago.
The transformation of this space into the tap room was challenging. The sloping floors in the theater had to be leveled and they opened the back walls to make room for a large outdoor Beer Garden with three firepits and a pergola. There is a mezzanine for additional seating overlooking the amazing space. They plan to offer small bites including big pretzels, paninis and charcuterie boards.
The Geneva Theater, next door, has restored two theaters back into one large theater for live shows. They are refinishing an antique pipe organ for the theater as well. This is an exciting project and a welcome addition to the vibrant downtown district.
